Webson Ji 吉麟 is a New York–based curator, cultural producer, and multimedia artist whose work centers on amplifying contemporary Asian and diasporic voices. His practice bridges creative direction, exhibition development, and international engagement, positioning him as a curatorial strategist fostering global visibility for Asian artists and an advocate of cross-cultural exchange.
Webson Ji is the founder and creative director of Li Tang Community, a New York–based, artist-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2020 to support and elevate the global Asian diaspora in art, design, and culture. Conceived as an inclusive “assembly hall,” Li Tang Community provides space for expression, collaboration, and mutual support among artists, curators, and cultural practitioners. He also serves as a curator at Asian Art Contemporary, a New York–based platform dedicated to contemporary Asian art. Through exhibitions, critical publications, and participation in international fairs—including the New York Art on Paper Fair—and collaborations with venues such as Metropolitan Art Atelier, Kyungsung University, and A Space Gallery, he advances the visibility of Asian artists and facilitates meaningful dialogue across cultures.
Webson Ji holds an M.A. in Sculpture from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a B.F.A. in Public Art from the China Academy of Art. While trained as a sculptor, his focus today lies in curatorial leadership and cultural programming that supports emerging talent and community-driven initiatives.
His artwork and practice have been exhibited internationally, including a solo exhibition at Obition, Seoul (2020), and shows at THE BLANC, Manhattan; Besharat Museum Gallery, Atlanta; Garcia Wilburn Gallery, Atlanta; Oculus World Trade Center, New York; High Line Nine Gallery, New York; La MaMa La Galleria; BINNAR Art Festival, Portugal; Antilia Gallery and Loosenart Gallery, Italy; CICA Museum, South Korea; Yonsei University, South Korea; and Z-Art Center, Shanghai.
In 2018, Webson Ji received the Best Young Artist of the Year award from the GAMMA Young Artist Competition in Tokyo and was named to the 2021 AACYF Top 30 Under 30 list.
